Hands-on Tutored Maintenance for the Novice Gardener

Alice has been designing landscapes for over eighteen years as owner of Leaves of Grass in Williston, Vermont.  She is a Vermont Certified Horticulturist, has been a member of the Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association since 1993 and has served on its board of directors.  

She holds an undergraduate degree in art history and studio art and has attended classes in landscape history and horticulture at Durham University & Durham Horticultural College in England and at the University of Vermont.  Prior to starting her own business, Alice acquired hands-on experience through garden center sales and management as well as work at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.  Extensive travel to gardens in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia has provided inspiration for her work in commercial and residential landscape design and installation.
