Garden Therapy: Landscape Gardener
Garden Therapy has an opening for a Part-Time Seasonal Landscape Gardener. The season begins as soon as the weather allows; usually around April 1, 2017. Garden Therapy is a 9 year old company that maintains perennial gardens throughout Chittenden County. They have 2 full-time staff and a couple of part-timers including this position, with additional part-time help brought in as needed. The gardens range from small private perennial gardens to large private estates containing annuals, perennials, vegetables, shrubs and trees. Garden Therapy takes pride in their attention to detail, their ability to provide excellent customer service, and their dedication to each and every client. They love what they do and want you to too.
This position will include, at a minimum, the following duties: Spring/fall Cleanup, edging, mulching, deadheading, weeding, pruning, planting, dividing and garden installation and overhauls. Also involved, moving plant material and repetition of certain tasks, like weeding. No mowing.
Requirements: Are you self-motivated, trustworthy and responsible? Do you take pride in your work and enjoy working independently as well as with others? Do you enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine, as well as manual work? They need someone in good physical shape that can work efficiently and is able to lift and carry 50+ pounds. You must be a non-smoker, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Plant knowledge and plant care experience, including pruning, is desired. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a love of plants are a must. A degree in Horticulture, or landscape/gardening experience is a plus.

Horticultural education and knowledge of basic botanical concepts is essential. College education in plant and soil science and/or professional experience in the horticultural field preferred.
