Winter Workshop: Best Pruning Practices – March 25, 2013

Join V.J. Comai at the South Forty Nursery as he shares his more than 20 years of experience pruning a variety of shade and ornamental trees for wholesale production. This hands-on workshop will cover proper tools, techniques, timing, and safety with an emphasis on training young trees for good structure and aesthetics. VJ will also cover pruning of fruit trees and deciduous shrubs. Please bring pruning equipment and dress for the weather. This workshop will give participants confidence when approaching their pruning jobs and the best practices and tools to use to accomplish the job.

Directions:  From Route 7 North: take a right onto Bostwick Rd. at the traffic light
just past the entrance to the Shelburne Museum. Stay on Bostwick Rd. for
about 2.5 miles. After  the big left bend in the road take your first right on Orchard Rd. Orchard Rd. is right at the Charlotte town line. Stay on Orchard Rd for about .6 miles to 3rd right which is Tamarack Rd. Turn right onto Tamarack Rd. and stay on it for .4 miles through the woods until you emerge at the nursery.
