Sarah Salatino & Hannah Brill display the new garden design plan.

Sarah Salatino & Hannah Brill display the new garden design plan.

Pollinator Garden curator Charlotte Albers of Paintbox Garden Design and grower Sarah Salatino of Full Circle Gardens will talk about the beneficial native species and cultivars in this collection designed by a UVM ecological landscape design student (Hannah Brill) in 2015. Planted last year, this herbaceous border replaces the former perennial trial garden used by Dr. Leonard Perry and is now used as an outdoor classroom for ecological study and a teaching site for Master Gardeners. Asters, goldenrod, hyssop, switchgrass and little bluestem will be at peak form.

Rachel Stievater, director of the Farmer Training program at the HREC, will then explain the operations of the CSA and give a tour through some of the growing fields at this 100 acre facility in the heart of South Burlington. Stay to enjoy the woodland walk, tour plant collections on your own, and bring a picnic to enjoy in the fields.
