Vermont Blooms Initiative
The VNLA would like to announce the launch of its Vermont Blooms Initiative, a planting program to enhance Vermonters health by improving and beautifying our civic landscapes. This all-volunteer project, funded by donations from our VNLA members and associates, seeks to improve/enhance public outdoor spaces across our towns throughout Vermont. Projects could include planting trees, planting a pollinator garden, a pruning project, etc. Locations for these projects could include a town center, a boys & girls club site, a community garden, local school, or public library to name a few.
On Saturday, October 17, 2020 VNLA members and volunteers will be at 3 different sites completing the first “Vermont Blooms” planting projects. The projects will begin at 9am and will be at the following locations:
Jeffersonville Family Housing at Mann’s Meadow
100 Mann’s Meadow
Installation of raised vegetable beds and bulb planting.
Vergennes Union Elementary School
43 East Street
Install a planting bed and maintenance work on their outdoor classroom area.
Platt Memorial Library
279 Main Street
Planting trees, planting bed clean-up and maintenance.

While we are starting out small with 3 sites, this will be the first of many VT Blooms projects the VNLA will be expanding to many towns across Vermont in the future.
